Points Based System [PBS] launched today
29th February 2008

The new Points Based System [PBS] is taking effect from today; Tier 1 for Highly Skilled Migrants is the first of five separate Tiers, providing a robust and measured means of ensuring that only the best can work in Britain. Other changes include the introduction of new licences for employers that wish to employ migrant workers, which will be a mandatory requirement for Tier 2 Work Permit applications, which are due to take effect in Autumn 2008, together with on-the-spot fines being issued to those employers that do not confirm to the rules and anyone found hiring illegal workers in the UK.

Appeals - Next Steps Appeals - Next Steps

If your UK immigration application has been refused and you do have the right to appeal, it is essential that you prepare the documents at an early stage to ensure that your appeal is considered valid. We will need to lodge the relevant paperwork within the specified timeframe. If you submit your appeal too late it is likely to be rejected as out of time. The amount of time that you have to appeal will depend on whether you made your application from within the UK or overseas.

Whilst UK immigration appeals can be difficult and time consuming for all those involved; we have a great deal of experience in successfully overturning appeals. We are specialists in appealing against visa refusals and making appeals to the AIT. We instruct top barristers to ensure that our clients’ interests are represented by an expert. Appeals are complex and involve a high level of skill and advocacy, as well as up to date knowledge of relevant case law. You should seek professional representation at an early stage to avoid further complications.

If you follow our advice and can provide the relevant documentation; your appeal should stand the best chance for success.

If you would like us to manage an application on your behalf, please complete our Appeals Assessment Form or Contact Us
