The rule is one job - one permit.

Once you have found new employment ask for the help of an adviser to sort out the details of the application. The Immigration Adviser can liaise with the employer, the Home Office and you. Sometimes the process can be more straightforward as the Home Office Work Permits UK will often have seen original references and these won't have to be supplied again.

In the UK you do not need permission to leave your employer, though the authorities do like to be informed. There is a form to be sent to the Home Office when you leave your employment. You should make a new application through your new employer, as you cannot just switch jobs without permission.

The job should be a similar job to the one granted on your work permit but if it is not the same kind of job we can still manage the case. If you have left your employer (not advisable) PERMITS2WORK have a team of specialists who can advise and make sure that you get good advice that results in a workable solution. It is always useful to see a copy of the original work permit for this application. If you will be doing the same job for the same employer at a different address you will not need to make a new application but the authorities should be informed or any technical changes made.

If you are an individual in the UK who has had a work permit before PERMITS2WORK can definitely help you if you are changing jobs. We can give a free assessment of the options available.

Same terms apply - no win, no fee.

The UK Border Agency has issued a statement today to clarify their position, following the highly skilled migrant programme (HSMP) Forum Judicial Review - Judgement of 6 April 2009.

The announcement sets out the conditions on which this judgement was made, the time period given to the UK Border Agency to put the neccessary policies and procedures in place.

In the interim, applicants are directed not to make an application unless their existing leave to remain is due to expire.

If you are affected by this legislative change and are looking for legal representation, please contact our offices.
