Youth mobility and temporary workers will be required to make an application under Tier 5 of the Points Based System. This tier encompasses previous immigration categories such as Working Holidaymakers and Temporary Exchange Workers.

This tier is due to take effect from autumn 2008.

Codes of Practice Released Under New Points Based System [Tier 2]

17 September 2008

The Codes of Practice have now been published today marking a significant point in the development of the Points Based System. These are very important documents which set the benchmarks for salaries in the Tier 2 category and levels of skilled jobs that will be allowed under the issue of Certificates of Sponsorship for migrant workers. Some salary bands may come as a surprise to many employers.
