Your sponsor would need to be registered with the UK Border Agency and hold a sponsorship licence.

This would be a temporary visa to be granted for a maximum period of 12 months.

It would not be possible to switch status Tier 3 into any another category and time spent on this visa could not be counted towards Indefinite Leave to Remain. Dependants would not be included on this visa.
